Darlene is a leader in in our community in many ways. She has contributed her time, gifts and talents to help move others along their journeys, as well as volunteer for countless non-profits and faith communities in Henderson. Darlene is ethical, moral and civic minded. She never quits. Ever!

She is able to bring people together for a common goal by listening and learning. She is comfortable working and living in a multi-racial world in her professional life as well as her volunteer opportunities. Darlene has helped our community protect our wounded children with empathy and professionalism, a job many of us wouldn't want.

Darlene has a strategic mind and has helped guide the United Way as their programs have been modified and adapted to our changing times. She has started a nonprofit organization and many, many other selfless actions in the Henderson community.
She is not there for the accolades, but instead is often doing the yucky parts of projects no one else wants to do.

From Ty Rideout: “I appreciate how she radiates optimism, and how she combines it with intelligence and genuine, passionate care for others."

Congratulations on this well-deserved distinguishment, Darlene!
